Oasis Community Cup: Naming Challenge

Timing: 5:00pm January 12th, 2021 through 4:59pm January 18th, 2021

We know our community is incredibly creative, and we’d love to get your help with coming up with a naming scheme for the Oasis Network upgrades! For this week’s challenge, submit a naming theme for our network upgrade versions.

For example, Google Android updates are named after desserts (KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, etc.) and Apple MacOS updates are named after California national parks (Yosemite, Big Sur, etc.).

For our Oasis network updates, you can be as creative as you want. Some theme ideas could be…flower themed (going off of our ROSE token) or fire themed (going off of our earlier Amber Network). Be as creative as you want!

The top 5 submissions selected by the Oasis team will each receive a prize of 1000 ROSE tokens. The same user can win multiple times if they submit high quality responses.

Each day starting Tuesday, January 12th through Monday, January 18th, you can tweet out your unique theme ideas. You can enter as many times as you want as long as each idea submitted is original. Be sure to include the hashtag #OasisNetwork

What theme can the Oasis Network use for naming network upgrades? Please include both the general theme and some name examples.

Sample answer:

• The #OasisNetwork should name network upgrades using a fire-related theme (e.g. Amber, Blaze, Cinder, etc.).

We may do later rounds of voting on submitted naming schemes. If your submitted naming scheme gets voted as the top choice by the community, you will win 2000 additional ROSE tokens. If the Oasis Network ends up using your naming scheme as the actual naming scheme, you will win 5000 additional ROSE tokens.

DISCLAIMER: Please note, answers that use our existing examples will not qualify for a prize. Any repeat submissions or bot submissions will not qualify for a prize. Also please note that in sharing your theme and name ideas, you are relinquishing any intellectual property or naming rights over the submitted theme or names. We are not obligated to use any submitted theme or naming ideas, though your theme or naming ideas could serve as inspiration for the final Oasis Network upgrade naming scheme.

*Each individual user can only earn up to a maximum of 10,000 tokens cumulatively across all Community Cup challenges. Rewards will be capped at 10,000 tokens.
